We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. I.D. Premaratne and Mrs. Indralatha Hewawitharana, who donated a valuable piece of land today for the construction of the Kuda Uragaha Pre-School of the Bentota Pradeshiya Sabha, along with the Honorable Chairman, the Council of Members, the Secretary and the staff of the Bentota Pradeshiya Sabha.

(– Due to the lack of a designated place to run the pre-school for the children of Kuda Uragah, the parents had to run it at the Kuda Uragah Temple for about fifty years.

With the intervention of Kuda Uragah Nandana Pushpakumara, who sought a solution to this problem, at the request of Pradeshiya Sabha member Tilak Upul Chaminda, a businessman from Uragashmanhandiya, Ambagah Junction, Mr. I.D. Premaratne, who spent seven hundred thousand rupees from his personal money, purchased a piece of land and donated it to the council.

This donation by Mr. Premaratne, who is not a resident of the area, should be highly appreciated. Since the land of about two million two hundred thousand perches is being given to build the pre-school, Mrs. Indralatha Hewawitharana, a resident of Kadawatha, made a huge donation to provide it for seven hundred thousand rupees and today is a historic day for the council. Due to this donation, Bentota Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha, Mr. Prema Kumara Wijewardena, said that a major problem faced by the Pradeshiya Sabha was resolved today.
